Stop Your Laptop From Sleeping During a Presentation
Ever been in the middle of an important presentation when your laptop screen suddenly goes dark? You’re making a key point, everyone’s engaged — and now you’re fumbling with the mouse trying to wake it up. Or maybe you’ve become a pro at the constant mouse wiggle, just trying to keep it awake.
There’s a better way — it’s called Presentation Mode, and it’s built right into Windows.
How to turn it on
- In the search bar, type Control Panel.
- Search the Control Panel for Presentation.
- Click to open the Windows Mobility Center to adjust settings for giving a presentation.
- Toggle the checkbox “I am currently giving a presentation.”
That’s it — you’re done. If you present often, pin it to your taskbar so it’s one click away.
Now your screen stays on, your presentation stays awake, and you stay professional.
