Windows Clipboard History (Win + V)
You’re working on a document and you need to copy several things — a name, an address, a phone number, a paragraph from another file. So you copy the first item, switch windows, paste it, switch back, copy the next item, switch again, paste… back and forth, over and over.
There’s a much better way, and it’s built right into Windows. It’s called Clipboard History, and once you start using it, you’ll wonder how you ever lived without it.
How it works
Instead of pressing Ctrl + V to paste, press Windows key + V. A small window pops up showing everything you’ve copied recently — not just the last thing, but your whole history of copied items. Click any one of them to paste it.
The first time you try it, Windows might ask you to turn on the feature. Just click Turn on and you’re set.
Now you can copy five things in a row, then paste them wherever you need them — in any order. No more switching back and forth. You can even pin items you use frequently, like your email signature or address, so they’re always available. It works for text, images, even links.
It’s one of those hidden features that saves you time every single day.
